I knew that the Holocaust was a evil time in history. After reading the play of Anne Frank by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett in English class, I realize the Holocaust was much more. It was a terrible time for Jews all over the world. The German Nazis led by Adolf Hitler separated Jewish families and handicapped people and took them to different concentration camps. Anne Frank was a young girl when her family had to go into hiding in the annex of her father’s office building. The family stayed there with the Van Daans and was joined by Dr. Dussel after sometime. Anne stayed in the annex for many months while Jews all over the world were being separated and killed, yet she still had faith, she still believed that she would make it through the hard time and eventually live a normal life. The story of Anne Frank shows me how fortunate I am. It showed me that her life was painful and took place in a frightening time but yet she still had faith that the Jewish people would one day be free.My grade went to the Smithsonian’s Holocaust museum which revealed how many people risked their lives for other Jewish families. The museum was life changing in many ways.

I like to sail. Sailing is so much fun with the wind going really fast. I love the feeling of the wind pushing you across the water. I also like to sleep. Sleeping gets you out of reality and takes you into all of your dreams. After sleeping for a long time you feel so happy and active. When I sleep it takes away all of my stress. Without sleep I would be very grumpy.

Everyone has their down times in life. When it seems as though nothing can pull you out of your sadness. But, everyone has some savior to snap them out of it.
When I am feeling down in the dumps I simply think of being at my happy place. My happy place fills my heart with happiness and lifts me from my moment of full sadness. My place of happiness is my family lake house in Maine. Sitting out on the dock, watching the waves flow by with all of the beautiful sail boats. This feeling lifts me up to a floating cloud.
Feeling lonley, I play with my pet dachshund to make me forget about all of the down feelings within. My pet dachshund, Molly, is always in a happy mood. Her feeling happy always puts me in a better mood.
